Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members of the Werribee Cricket Club, including players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters. It aims to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that upholds the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community.
1. Respect and Inclusion
Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender, age, ability, religion, or background.
Promote an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Avoid any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying.
2. Sportsmanship and Behaviour
Play and support the game in the spirit of fairness, honesty, and integrity.
Respect umpires, officials, opponents, and teammates at all times.
Accept decisions gracefully and avoid arguing or dissent.
Refrain from abusive, offensive, or inappropriate language or gestures.
3. Safety and Wellbeing
Prioritise the physical and mental wellbeing of yourself and others.
Follow club safety protocols and report any concerns or incidents promptly.
Avoid the use of illegal drugs during club activities.
4. Commitment and Responsibility
Attend training sessions, matches, and club events punctually and prepared.
Take responsibility for your actions and uphold the club’s reputation.
Support and encourage fellow members, especially younger or less experienced players.
5. Social Media and Communication
Use social media responsibly and respectfully when representing the club.
Do not post content that is offensive, defamatory, or harmful to others.
Maintain confidentiality and avoid sharing private club matters publicly.
6. Club Property and Environment
Respect club facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Help maintain a clean and safe environment for all members.
Report any damage or misuse of property to club officials.
7. Breaches and Consequences
Breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the club.
All concerns will be addressed fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with club policies.
